ASTRO GATE Inc. (Head Office: Akiruno, Tokyo, Japan; President: Daisuke Ode) is pleased to announce that Mr. Okamoto, Head of the Business Development Division, delivered a guest lecture at the Kanazawa Space School, an educational program hosted by the Kanazawa City Board of Education, on May 25, 2025.
The Kanazawa Space School is a science education initiative designed to nurture young scientists who can think deeply about themselves, their futures, and the value of life. It is open to a wide range of participants, from elementary school students to adults, and uses space as a core educational theme.
In his lecture, titled “What Is a Spaceport?”, Mr. Okamoto explained the overall concept of spaceports, the various facilities they comprise, and shared examples of notable spaceports around the world.
In the second half of the session, participants engaged in a hands-on workshop under the theme:
“If a spaceport were built in Kanazawa and allowed travel to anywhere in the world within an hour, what kind of business would you start?”
The students enthusiastically applied what they had learned to propose a variety of innovative space-related business ideas.
