On Wednesday, August 5, 2026, Momoyo Kamimura from ASTRO GATE’s Business Development Department spoke at the event “Networking with Space-Related Agencies in Asia, Africa, and Other Regions” during the “FY2026 JICA Knowledge Co-Creation Program,” held at X-NIHONBASHI TOWER and organized by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).
■ About the JICA Knowledge Co-Creation Program
JICA’s Knowledge Co-Creation Program (Group and Region-Focused) is conducted across various themes to share knowledge and expertise that contribute to solving challenges faced by developing countries. Under the theme “Capacity Development of Space Technology Utilization for SDGs,” this session took place from July 26 to August 8, targeting space-related organizations in regions such as Asia, Africa and other continents. During this period, nine officials from space agencies and academic institutions leading space policy formulation and promotion across six countries visited Japan.

■ Presentation and Networking Session
This networking event was held as part of the training program. During the corporate presentation segment, Momoyo presented ASTRO GAT’E’s initiatives as a spaceport startup.
In the subsequent networking (discussion) session, active exchanges of opinions took place with members of space agencies from the participating countries. The enthusiastic questions served as a strong indicator of the high demand and interest in spaceports in the global market.
We will continue to strengthen cooperation with domestic and international partners and space agencies, contributing to the development of space technology and industry, as well as addressing social challenges through regional revitalization.
