ASTRO GATE and SpaceShift Sign MOU to Promote “Space‑Led Urban Development Solutions” Utilizing Satellite Data

Tokyo, Japan — July 8, 2025: ASTRO GATE Inc. (Headquarters: Tokyo; President: Daisuke Ode; hereinafter “ASTRO GATE”) and SpaceShift Inc. (Headquarters: Tokyo; CEO: Naruo Kanamoto; hereinafter “SpaceShift”) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to collaborate on spaceport‑driven urban development solutions leveraging satellite data. In addition, ASTRO GATE has joined SpaceShift’s business co‑creation consortium program, “SateBiz”, to further accelerate their partnership.

Spaceports and Urban Development

ASTRO GATE plans and operates spaceports globally not merely as launch sites, but as hubs for urban regeneration—attracting space industry investment and stimulating local economies spanning construction, manufacturing, logistics, tourism, education, and primary industries. Since its founding, ASTRO GATE has engaged with municipalities worldwide to design spaceport-based revitalization strategies that align with regional industrial strengths and guide complete project implementation.

New Co‑creation Initiative Utilizing Satellite Data

With deep experience in spaceport planning, space industry strategy, and cross‑sector collaboration, ASTRO GATE has launched a co‑creation initiative tailored to organizations entering the space sector. SpaceShift, in turn, is a leader in AI-driven analysis of Earth observation data across diverse domains including urban planning and disaster monitoring. Together, the two companies can deliver sophisticated, wide-area analyses efficiently—enabling space-enabled urban development and driving Space Transformation (SX) across various industries.

Participation in the SateBiz Consortium

SateBiz is a business co-creation program led by SpaceShift to promote the private-sector utilization of satellite data. The consortium includes approximately 50 member companies across various sectors such as finance, real estate, agriculture, and green transformation (GX). It aims to create new value by combining satellite data with members’ own assets and datasets.
With ASTRO GATE’s participation, the collaboration with other member companies will be further strengthened, leading to the creation of new business opportunities and added value.
