Ph.D. in Engineering / Licensed First-Class Architect.
Dr. Ode began his career at Obayashi Corporation, where he was involved in on-site construction management, R&D in seismic engineering, and new business development.
In 2021, he co-founded SPACE COTAN Inc. and served as Director and COO, where he led the planning and operations of the Hokkaido Spaceport from the ground up. As Japan’s first private spaceport, he oversaw a wide range of initiatives, including launch site development, private-sector partnership building, and launch operation support.
In March 2024, he founded ASTRO GATE Inc. with the ambition to lead spaceport planning and operations on a global scale. He is responsible for the overall management of the company, focusing on spaceport development, fundraising, and launch support for domestic and international rocket operators. He also has a strong external presence through speaking engagements, publications, and patents related to the space industry.
